The
Tobago CERT Fire Suppression Training Program was held on the 6th February,
2006 with a duration of four (4) weeks. This training program targeted CERT
Technicians with the aim of providing training in various aspects of Fire
Suppression that would enable participants to function effectively and
efficiently in the field of Firefighting and Suppression. The total
quantity of nineteen (19) participants were involved in this cycle.
The following are the modular units which comprised the Learning objectives for the training program, exposing each applicant to:
Fire Operations:
Practical Firemanship
Ventilation / Salvage
Rescue
Fire Service Equipment:
Pumps and Primers
Hose
Ropes, Lines and Knots
Foam and Foam making equipment
Ladders
Extinguishers
Fire Operations - Demonstrate a basic understanding of operational firefighting and rescue procedures.
Fire Safety - Demonstrate a basic understanding of building construction and Fire Safety.
