On the 6th of May 2008 Captain and Crew of the France Base Military Vessel- Francis Garnier made a courtesy visit to the NEMA Tobago Emergency Operations Center (TEOC) at Fairfield Complex, Bacolet Street, Scarborough, Tobago.  The military vessel has the capacity to evacuate approximately six hundred (600) people.

Officials from the National Emergency Management Agency also returned a courtesy visit to the Military vessel later that day and saw first hand operations of the vessel and its capability in providing assistance to national disaster relief system.
