Handing over of Resources to
the Les Coteaux Shelter Management Team.

On the June 30th 2008, NEMA Tobago handed over a Disaster Management Preparedness Kit to the Les Coteaux Shelter Management Team at the Les Coteaux Community Center.  This exercise was aimed at strengthening the community preparedness for natural disasters by decentralizing resources into communities for easy access and response in the event of a disaster.

The Les Coteaux Shelter Management Team met the basic requirements and is equipped with efficiently trained personnel in disaster management including having safe housing for Disaster Equipment and resources.

The Honourable Claudia Groom-Duke, the T.H.A.’s area representative handed out certificates to shelter management members and was pleased to witness this exercise as the village of Les Coteaux moved another step in becoming ready to manage the reality of a disaster.
