WISER Training
The NEMA Tobago sponsored WISER Training program was conducted at the Rovanells Hotel, Store Bay Local Road, Tobago during the period 11th to 15th of December, 2006.
WISER: Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders. The system is designed to assist First Responders in hazardous material incidents. Developed by the National Library of Medicine. WISER provides a wide range of information on hazardous substances, including substance identification support, physical characteristics, human health information, along with containment and suppression guidance.
The training is facilitated by Mark and Elita Vedder; both of whom are Hazardous material (HAZMAT) specialists, specialists in weapons of mass destruction (WMD), and Fire Fighting and Rescue instructors from Cleveland Ohio.
Chief Secretary Orville London, delivered the formal address, declared the training open and received on behalf of Tobago a gift of two (2) books from Mr. Vedder.
